Jonathan Mensah on the mend at Evian TG

Published on: 07 April 2012

Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah is battling a niggling thigh injury at French Ligue 1 side Evian Thonon-Gaillard.

The 21-year-old has not played for the debutants since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations.

A similar injury sidelined him for up to five weeks last year before leaving for international duty in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

He has been left out of the squad to play Rennes on Saturday at home.

Mensah moved from Granada to the promoted French side but centre-back has failed to achieve that objective.

He played at the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals in South Africa and was a member of the Ghana U20 team that won the 2009 FIFA World Youth Championship.
