Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah scored an own goal that helped Andre Ayew's Marseille to cruise to a 3-1 win over Evian at Parc des Sports in Ligue 1 on Sunday.

The two Ghanaians joined their clubs on training on Thursday after playing for the Black Stars over the past seven days.

But Mensah was unlucky as he ended up on the losing side, accidentally heading in a shot for a Marseille which helped in Ayew side's victory.

The visitors got off to a perfect start when Andre-Pierre Gignac scored inside the first minute.

Evian ended the half as badly as they started it when Giannelli Imbula doubled the advantage with a minute of normal time left to play with his shot finding the head of Mensah.

Florian Thauvin then made it 3-0 just after the hour mark before Clarck N'Sikulu pulled back a consolation for the home side.

The win moves Marseille up to third in Ligue 1.
