Jonathan Mensah vows to fight for playing time at Evian TG

Published on: 04 September 2011

Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah has promised to fight hard to break into the Evian Thonon-Gaillard starting line-up.

The 20-year-old signed a five-year deal with the newly-promoted French Ligue 1 side this summer but he is yet to play a single match.

His switch was hotly contested by his parent club Udinese but that was resolved making him eligible for action.

Mensah bidding his time and will make the most of any playing opportunity that avails itself.

''I am still working hard so I can impress when given the chance to play,'' the centre-back told

''There is no problem and everything is fine in France and I am sure I will eventually get the chance to play.''

I thought moving from Udinese to Evian was for you to get more playing time and yet you are still warming the bench? The french league started a while ago so i guess you will have to wait until there is an injury or suspension in the Evian team before you get your chance because Evian are doing very well in the league. Oh well, i wish you good luck and hope you take the chance when it arrives.
