Marseille’s Jordan Ayew set a new French Ligue 1 record for quickest sending off after coming on and may well find himself in the Guinness Book of Records.

No doubting what the big story is in France today and it is one that will have Stattos the world over combing the record books.

Such was the speed in which he came on and then departed the Parc des Sports pitch that he has attracted wide coverage in the French media.

Marseille were drawing 1-1 at Evian but down to 10 men due to the red card shown to Kasim Abdallah in the 73rd minute when Jordan Ayew was introduced.

From then on it all happened so fast. One foul on 74 minutes led to his first caution from referee Antony Gautier, swiftly followed by foul number two and second yellow just seconds later.

Third placed Marseille managed to hold on to a 1-1 draw with nine men but their Ligue 1 title hopes are fading fast.

Below is video of Jordan Ayew’s 111 second sending off, a Facebook picture doing the rounds of all the key incidents.
