Jordan Ayew says he is in no rush to leave relegated Championship side Aston Villa despite interest from several clubs in the English top-flight after just one season at the club.

The Ghana international who has been targeted by numerous clubs in Europe after his side Aston Villa got relegated in the 2015/2016 EPL campaign.

Ayew, who joined the club last season from French side Lorient for about £12m, was one of the few Villa players who impressed in the Premier League last season.

The son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele ended up as the top scorer of Aston Villa with seven goals in all competitions.

In-coming Aston Villa boss Roberto Di Matteo has also stated that he would love to have Ayew stay at the club as they fight to return to the top-flight.

With a host of teams interested in signing the 24-year-old, and Villa realise that they may find it difficult to keep hold of the forward.

However the talented striker says he is not in a hurry to leave the club as he has to weigh his options carefully.

“I'm in no rush to leave Aston Villa. I am happy to be there though we were relegated,” he told GHone TV.

“I am happy at Villa and I don’t want to rush. They need me and I want to help them to qualify back to the Premier League.

“I was with the team in the Premiership and I will play with them in the Championship."

Despite Villa being relegated with three wins in 38 matches, Jordan ended up as the top scorer of the side with seven goals in all competitions.

Ayew's performance of scoring seven Premier League goals last campaign ensures that he would surely be a standout player at Championship level.

Di Matteo wants to keep Ayew, but he is planning for life without the rapid forward.

Ayew showed great promise in his first season in a troubled Aston Villa team who recorded the worst record in the EPL after accumulating 17 points out of 38 matches.
