Abedi Ayew has jumped to the defense of Jordan Ayew following a conservative debut for Aston Villa by claiming he is less imposing than his elder brother Andre but equally effective.

The two brothers Jordan and Andre both made history by becoming the first brothers to debut in the English Premier league on the same day.

Jordan who played 60 minutes as his side beat Bournemouth 1-0 endured a difficult start to life in the English Premier league and was hooked off for eventual match hero Rudy Gestedy.

Whiles Jordan was still finding his feet in the English game Andre lined up for Swansea against Champions Chelsea and scored a debut goal to announce his presence in the English league.

The contrasting debut has sparked debate on who is the most equipped to take the league by  storm but their father Abedi says both have their quality and it would be unfair to judge them after a single game.

“They are both my children and they both have their qualities but Andre is more imposing and gets settled in earlier than his brother,” Abedi told Accra based Citi FM

“Jordan has proved on a couple of occasion what he can do, and  In France he scored against all the three top side including Marseille so he takes time whiles Andre gets it going."

The former Lorient striker will get another opportunity to stake his claim when Manchester United travel to Villa park to play Aston Villa this Friday.
