Jordan Ayew may have yet to score for new club Aston Villa but he was among the goals for Ghana in a friendly win over Congo this week.

The 23-year-old arrived at Villa Park from Lorient as part of a £8.8 million deal but has so far failed to find the net for his new club, despite featuring in four of Villa's opening six games.

His record for the national team, however, has been far more impressive in recent times with Ayew scoring two in a 7-1 Africa Cup of Nations qualification win over Mauritius.

Prior to that brace, the 23-year-old had last found the net for Ghana at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea, scoring in a 3-0 semi-final win over the hosts.

Ayew was back on song this week though, scoring in a 3-2 victory over Congo.

But despite scoring on international duty in recent times, the Ghana forward faces a fight to play regularly for Aston Villa.
