In-form Ghana forward Jordan Ayew has been shown a direct red card in Swansea City game against Huddersfield Town in the English Premier League.

Ayew, whose contribution to the Swans attack has been terrific since manager Carlos Carvalhal took over from Paul Clement in December last year, was given his marching orders by referee Michael Oliver following a horror tackle on Jonathan Hogg in the 10th minute of the game.

Despite playing the remaining 79 minutes with a man less, Swansea were able to keep the Terriers at bay as the match ended in a 0-0 score line.

Andre Ayew picked a booking in the 63rd minute before he was replaced with Tammy Abraham ten minutes later.

By virtue of the stalemate, Swansea dropped to 14th on the standings with 31 points after 30 games.
