Striker Jordan Ayew struck at the death to give Ghana a 3-2 win over Congo in an international played in Brazzaville on Tuesday to boost their confidence ahead of Saturday's 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda.

This boosts the Black Stars for their next assignment on Saturday against Rwanda in a 2017 Nations Cup qualifier in Kigali.

Ayew, who is down the pecking order at Aston Villa, came off the bench to seal the winner after coming off the bench.

Ghana took a two-zero lead at half time with goals from stand-in captain Harrison Afful and Roda JC Richmond Boakye-Yiadom.

But the Congolese came back strongly after head coach Claude Le Roy made changes with the introduction of Mbaka and Binguila.

The Red Devils leveled at 2-2 before Ayew connected home the winning goal in injury time after collecting a pass from Afriyie Acquah.

Ghana will now leave to Kigali to face Rwanda on Saturday in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations Group H qualifier.
