Ghanaian defender Joseph Aidoo had a mixed match for KRC Genk as he scored an own goal and grabbed a consolation in their 3-2 loss at KV Mechelen in the Belgian Jupilar Pro League on Saturday.

Genk were dealt a massive blow in the 3rd minute as in-form Ghanaian guardsman Joseph Paintsil put the ball at the back of his own net to hand Mechelen the advantage at the AFAS-stadion Achter de Kazerne.

Nicklas Pederson killed the game off in the first half with a superb brace for Mechelen as they ended the stanza with a comfortable 3-0 lead.

Addo pulled a goal back for his side in the 54th minute before Alejandro Pozuelo added another goal in the 90th minute but they could not find the leveller despite their late charge.

The former Tema Youth attacker has netted two goals in his 13 appearances for KRC Genk in his debut season.

Aidoo has been an important figure for Patrick Janssens' side since joining in the close season from Swedish top flight side Hammarby.
