Journalists thronged the Alisa Hotel in drones to cover the press conference of the Gyan Family despite calls by umbrella bodies to boycott the event.

Reporters numbering over 100 registered their presence at the press conference held to address recent issues of 'national interest' about the Gyan's.

Asamoah Gyan had been accused of sacrificing his musician friend, Castro for rituals to enhance his career.

His elder brother, Baffour has also just come off an assault lawsuit against journalist Daniel Kenu for which the sports writer's umbrella body, SWAG had declared a boycott.

But there was however a massive attendance attendance of the media at the event held at the Alisa Hotel.

Journalist from almost all media houses in the capital defied the rains to attend the function which saw the Gyan family invited the larger Ghanaian media to a truce following recent developments.

Several Ghanaian journalists remain aggrieved by the alleged assault on their colleague by Baffour Gyan in the lead up to Ghana's opening 2015 AFCON qualifier against Uganda.

The alleged assault was in reaction to an inappropriate question posed by the Graphic reporter in a press meeting days before the Black Stars took to the field against Uganda.
