German-born would-be Ghana international Karim Bellarabi struck the fastest goal in the Bundesliga's 51-year-old history for Bayer Leverkusen who silenced 'noisy' Borussia Dortmund 2-0 on Saturday evening.

The 24-year-old needed just nine seconds from kick-off to ink his name in the Bundesliga's record books as the fastest scorer in 51 years.

Leverkusen kicked off and Dortmund could not intercept their stringing passes which found Bellarabi on the edge of the box. He artfully outwitted his marker and forced a powerful low drive into Mitchell Langerak's net for the opening goal.

Bellarabi, who arrived from Eintracht Braunschweig - where he spent last season on loan, has transformed his impressive pre-season scoring form into the Bundesliga.

He raced the visitors into the lead at the Signal-Iduna-Park inside the 1st minute of the game.

He secured his place in the Leverkusen starting line-up following his impressive pre-season form and justified his spot with a strike just at the early stages of the game to stun the home fans.
