Ghanaian business mogul Kennedy Agyapong has supported Asante Kotoko’s ongoing pre-season activities with a donation of GHS 6000 (over $1,860).

The donation is in fulfillment of a promise made the team by the former board member as part of his contribution to the side’s pre-season activities.

The Ghana Premier League champions have just returned from a pre-season tour in neighbouring Togo in preparations for their title defence.

The club – like any other Ghana Premier League side – have been reduced to playing friendly matches due to the delayed start of the Ghanaian top flight over a court case.

Kotoko have thus been incurring costs with minimal returns.

The donation thus is meant to lessen the plight of the club as players and officials also got the opportunity to tour the imposing Airport residence of the business mogul popularly referred to as ‘Cappuccino’.

Head coach of the side Mas-Ud Dramani thanked Agyapong for hos donation and hoped his acquired wealth will serve as a good example for his squad.

“You have always been there for us,” he said.

“You have demonstrated you are true son of our great club. You just promised us on our way to Togo at the Tema Motorway a few days ago when you were on a motorbike for a business errand, and here we are today fulfilling your promise.

“Like I said, we are very grateful, I believe we coming to your wonderful abode will inspire the players including we the management to strive to become like you.

“It is good they have come to see the house of the gentleman who has been supporting the club all these while. We thank you.”

Kennedy Agyapong, who is also the president and the CEO of  Kenpong Group of  Companies admonished the players to take their career very serious if they want to make impact in life.

“I started from a humble beginning, but perseverance, tenacity of purpose and the grace of God brought me this far,” he told the team.

“Don’t joke with whatever you are doing, I don’t joke with my work, if I put my hand to work, I make sure it is executed to the fullest.

“This is just a token for your minor expenses, you will hear from me at the right time, I wish you good luck, and I said keep focused, that is the only way that will help you achieve excellence.”

He later led the team in their bus to his offices at West Airport Residential Area for a tour.
