Kenya refuse to play Ghana in friendly next week

Kenya coach Zedekiah Otieno has declined to play Ghana in an international friendly next week ahead of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Ghana are expected in Nairobi next Tuesday for a three-day training camp on their way to Congo Brazzaville.

The Black Stars had requested to play a friendly match against Kenya before they depart for Congo.

But Harambee Stars coach Otieno said the physical demands of such a match will wear down his players before their qualifier against Angola.

"For now it is not possible to play Ghana because we will be worn out by the time Angola come," Otieno told the Standard Newspaper.

"It would have made more sense if we had the match ten days earlier.

"They have to get a club side if they want a friendly match. We have plans to play this week and that will be enough before our game against Angola."
