Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has revealed he had no friends during his unhappy spell at Tottenham Hotspur.
AC Milan star says his Ghanaian heritage is the reason why he is always happy and smiles even in difficult times.
Boateng, 23, got his career back on track at Portsmouth after enduring a miserable spell in north London.
Brought in for £5.4 million in 2007, the Ghana World Cup 2010 star made just 14 Premier League appearances in two unhappy years.

Speaking to Milan Channel, the player who arrived at the San Siro on loan from Genoa this summer stated: “My personality is more Ghanaian, as I’m always happy and smiling. The German side also comes through in my organisation and discipline.
“At Tottenham I had the nickname ‘Ghetto Kid,’ but it was part of my past down to the silly things a young man does that obviously I’m not proud of.
“It certainly wasn’t a great time of my life in England, even if it forced me to learn a great deal.
“I didn’t get on with the manager or some of my teammates, but my private life was also not going well.â€
The German-born star discovered the tradition of Ghana when he opted to play for the West African country and excelled at the World Cup.
