Schalke's Klaas-Jan Huntelaar of the Netherlands, right, celebrates Schalke's Kevin-Prince Boateng of Ghana after the opening goal during the German Bundesliga soccer match between FC Schalke 04 and VfL Wolfsburg in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014.

Kevin-Prince Boateng is delighted to have scored the winning goal for Schalke to beat Wolfsburg 2-1 and move fourth in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

Boateng scored in the 81st minute following some good interplay between Leon Goretzka and Roman Neustaedter, restoring the home side's lead.

Maximilian Arnold equalized for 10-man Wolfsburg in the 65th after Felipe Santana opened the scoring in the ninth, when Boateng's effort rebounded off his shoulder and squirmed inside the post after a corner.

"I'm delighted with the win," Boateng said. "It was hugely important. The fans got to see a good match, they had to fret for a little bit, but that keeps us all young."

Boateng, who joined the Royal Blues last summer, has scored six goals in 14 Bundesliga appearances.
