Ghana international Kevin-Prince Boateng has told Schalke General Manager Horst Heldt that he wants to play as the club’s No.10 for the upcoming season.

Two other players Max Meyer and Julian Draxler are said to be fighting for that position.

Boateng, who joined the Royal Blues last season from AC Milan, and starred in a defensive midfielder role where he scored six goals in 28 Bundesliga appearances.

But the 27-year-old wants a change and had communicated that to coach Jens Keller.

“I was bought as a number ten, since I would like to play through the whole season,” Boateng said.

“I love playing football and barring any discomfort physically, I would like to play all games.”
