King Faisal reached the semi-final of the MTN FA Cup with a 5-3 penalty shoot-out win over Aduana Stars in the Dormaa Ahenkro on Sunday.

Faisal, playing with ten men, needed an injury time equalizer to tie the score at 1-1 in regulation time after Aduana took the lead early on.

Defender Godfred Saka scored on 53 minutes with a follow-up from a penalty which was saved by goalkeeper Alexander Domfeh.

Faisal had defender Emmanuel Ampiah sent off for yellow accumulation for committing the foul which resulted in the penalty.

The Kumasi-based side leveled the scoring in the 91st minute when midfielder Mohammed Alhassan shot home from around the area when Aduana failed to deal with a cross.

During the shoot-outs, Faisal converted all five kicks from captain Tetteh Nortey, Suraj Ibrahim, Franklin Osei, Fatawu Mohammed and Joshua Akoto.

Aduana had Emmanuel Akuoko, Seth Opare and Kofi Owusu score but Godfred Saka missed.
