King Faisal track CK Akunnor for vacant coaching job

King Faisal have launched a bold bid to secure CK Akunnor as the club’s senior team coach.

The post has become vacant following the sacking of Stephen Abugri on Monday evening.

The tough-talking trainer was shown the exit door after he clashed with club owner Alhaji Karim Grunzah after their 1-0 home defeat to Ebusua Dwarfs on Sunday.

In a dramatic twist, the Kumasi-based club made a bold play to land Akunnor as their next man.

The 39-year-old is looking for new employers after he was sacked by Hearts following strings of poor performances in the top-flight.

Ex-Ghana international Mallam Yahaya has been appointed in a care-taker role until a substantive coach is appointed .
