Kingson psych up youngsters in Ghana camp

Kingson, making his fifth Nations Cup appearance, is impressed with the work ethics of the eight Under-20 players drafted into the team.

 

The Wigan goalkeeper claims he has prepared them mentally for the task ahead and believes they can meet expectations.

 

"I have been telling them how the tournament is going to be so everybody has to prepare himself physically and mentally and has to be very strong," Kingson said.

 

"It's not going to be easy or like the Under-20 or Under-23 because the matured playing are coming to play and exhibit their skills to show to the world.

 

"I have told them not to count themselves as kids and young players. They have to strong and play their own football."

 

Kingson is likely to captain the Ghana side which against Ivory Coast on Friday with Michael Essien likely to sit out that match.
