Kingston thanks Hearts boss for WC place

Hearts midfielder Laryea Kingston has thanked boss Jim Jefferies for keeping his World Cup dream alive after being named in Ghana's preliminary squad.

Kingston had feared for his chances of facing Germany, Australia and Serbia this summer after falling out of favour under former Tynecastle boss Csaba Laszlo.

However, following JJ's arrival in Gorgie four months ago, the 29-year-old was restored to the first team and has responded with some impressive displays.

Having been suspended for the tournament in Germany four years ago, he's relishing the prospect of finally making it to the World Cup with the Black Stars and he told Hearts News it would not have been possible without JJ's help.

"Obviously I am very happy to see my name included and I have to give all my credit to Jim Jefferies," he said.

"This is the biggest tournament for my country and it would be a dream to play in South Africa. I am fit and have been enjoying my football at Hearts under Jim. Without Jim's help I think my chances of being in South Africa with the national team would have been under threat. But I am very happy today."
