Hearts of Oak midfielder Kofi Abanga has dismissed reports he has been released from club.

The 24-year-old has had his fair share of injuries since joining the Phobians from Aduana Stars in 2008.

Abanga was used sparingly in the last campaign after recovering from a serious knee injury on both legs.

His minimal contribution to the side has fuelled speculations and now reports he has been asked to leave the club alongside other players deemed surplus to requirement.

Abanga however says these reports are false as he has been part of the team’s pre-season activities upon resumption on Monday.

“It is not true that I have been released from Hearts of Oak,” he told Accra-based Hot FM.

“I have been training with the team and things are moving on quite well.

“I don’t know where these reports are coming from but all is well with me and the club as I speak with you.”

Hearts are expected to move to residential camping this weekend ahead of the commencement of the new season in October.
