Outspoken football administrator Kofi Manu has squashed suggestion to limit the terms of the president of Ghana Football Association.
A two-day seminar by eminent administrators recommended that there should be a modification of the football constitution saying the term of the president should be limited to two-terms
The constitution currently allows the sitting president to contest for re-election once the four-year-term expires.
Manu believes the idea by the sports gurus is implausible.
ââ¬ÅDo you know how many people since 1992 have been in parliament? Why would they not reduce the term in Parliament to two? I donââ¬â¢t know how people even reason,â⬠he told Joy Sports.
ââ¬ÅSome people have been in Parliament since 1992 to this day, you say the FA president should go two times [terms].
ââ¬ÅWhy donââ¬â¢t they legislate that the President of the republic of Ghana has two terms so every MP has two terms, what are they talking about?
ââ¬ÅHave they not forgotten that itââ¬â¢s an association? We decide what we want to do in the association as long as it doesnââ¬â¢t conflict with the laws of the land.ââ¬
