Kotoko planned to travel to Spain for pre-season training

Asante Kotoko’s intended training tour of Spain is likely to be called off over a tight pre-season program.

The champions hoped to have traveled to the European country to intensify their preparations ahead of the start of their Premier League defence.

But the agent working on the trip has encountered some challenges and is yet to determine the date of takeoff for the team.

With the Ghana Premier League tentatively set to begin on September 21, coach Mas-Ud Dramani wants to pick up pace with his low-keyed pre-season training.

The club is therefore looking at abandoning its intended trip to Spain to give the side more time to prepare for their season opener.

The team could head back to Tamale as the venue for their pre-season camp for the second season running.

Kotoko hope to defend their Premier League crown for the fourth successive time and to make a stronger impact in their upcoming campaign in the CAF Champions League.
