Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have confirmed assistant coach Prince Acheampong will take temporal charge of the team at next month's maiden two-day tournament in Tanzania in July.

Serb trainer Bogdan Korak will be unavailable as he takes his mandatory one-month leave in his homeland.

Kotoko will play against top local sides Simba and Young Africans for the Tanzanian International Cup.

"The assistant coach will be in charge because Bogdan Korak as part of his contractual agreement will have to take a one-month break and that’s why he won't be available," the club's Administrative Manager Benjamin Nti said

"But we believe Sabuto is capable and has the competence to guide the team to victory when we play in the championship."

The tournament has been organized by two South African marketing firms Lumuli Marketing and Octagon and will also include Kotoko's local rivals Hearts of Oak.
