Kotoko have recalled midfielder Michael Osei after sensationally asking him to look elsewhere.

The 30-year-old was deemed surplus to requirement and was told to find a new club.

But the club has backtracked after recalling him to return to full scale training ahead of the new season.

The club's interim coach Michael Osei has confirmed the fitness level of the experienced midfielder will be assessed before being registered for the new season.

"We have called him [Michael Akuffu] to start training with us since we need holding midfielders" Osei told Kumasi-based Nhyira FM

"We will access him on his fitness before he will be registered for the new season."

The former WAFA midfielder returned to Kotoko after an unsuccesful stint at Lebanese side Al Ansar due to niggling injuries.
