Kotoko Board member praises Hearts fans

Board Member of Asante Kotoko Jerry Asare has hailed supporters of Hearts of Oak saying their total devotion is worth emulating.

Asare sought to put to bed the ongoing debate as to which sects of supporters are more effective especially on matchdays.

“I really admire Hearts supporters with the way they give absolute support to their team,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“The way they backed their team in the dying minutes when we played them in Accra, at a point I was even afraid we were going to lose.

“When it comes to team support here in Ghana there is no doubt that the Hearts supporters are well on top and I think their admirable support is worth emulating.”

Kotoko have initiated some programs to whip up excitement and enthusiasm within their supporting ranks.

Such moves include the ‘Give change, make change’ initiative where supporters are required to make financial contribution towards improving general administration of the club.

Management have also resolved to reward loyal fans by taking them on every trip the team makes outside the country.
