Asante Kotoko captain Daniel Nii Adjei has issued a groveling apology to the club's supporters following their inability to defend the MTN FA Cup on Sunday.

The Porcupine warriors were shell-shocked at the Accra Sports stadium by second-tier side Nania FC who beat them 1-0 in extra-time.

The defeat has infuriated the millions of Kotoko  fans with the future of Serbian trainer Bogdan Korak been speculated.

The Board of Directors of the club will meet on Monday night to decide whether Korak will remain with the club or not.

"I will want to apologise to the fans on behalf of the players. We were very determined to win the game but unfortunately it didn’t happen and we’re sorry for that," Adjei said.

"Nania played well and they deserve to win. It painful but this is part of the game and sometimes things simply don’t go your way and we have to accept that and move on."
