Asante Kotoko acting Chief Executive Opoku Nti says their embarrassing elimination from the CAF Champions League will make them stronger for future assignments.

The two-time African champions suffered an ignominious 1-0 defeat on Sunday to debutants Barrack Young Controllers of Liberia.

A late goal from promising youngster Blamo Nimely earned a 2-2 aggregate just enough to dump Kotoko out of the competition.

Kotoko, who were seeking to reach the Group stage for the first time since 2006, were handed a HUGE slap in the face.

"Well we are down but we have to learn the lessons quickly," Nti addressed the players shortly after the game.

"We still have the league and the FA cup and its important we don’t send out disappointment into the next game.

"The lessons are there to be learnt. Now we have to shift attention to the competitions that we are left in we are a strong club and we will see better days."

Kotoko sit at the summit of the Ghana Premier League table with a four-point lead.
