Dr K.K Sarpong has confirmed his resignation from the Ghana Football Association’s Marketing and Sponsorship Committee.

News broke on Tuesday of Dr Sarpong’s resignation from one of the adhoc committee’s of the association.

“Yes, I can confirm I have resigned as the chairman of the Sponsorship Committee of the Ghana Football Association,” the Asante Kotoko chairman told GHANAsoccernet.com through an intermediary.

Though reasons were not given for the decision, it is widely reported Dr Sarpong feels slighted by the unilateral decisions taken by Ghana FA President Kwasi Nyantakyi on issues dealing with sponsorship.

One of such decisions is the reported agreement to extend Globacom’s contract to sponsor the Ghana Premier League for a lesser fee.

Dr Sarpong has been in the job for only a year during which time no news of a landmark sponsorship package for the Ghana FA has been struck.

Other members of the committee include; George Amoako (Vice President), Nii Amoo Cudjoe (Member), Isaac Tetteh (Member), Karim Kudaya (Member), Twum Barima (Member) and Jefferey Asare (Member).
