Executive Chairman of Asante Kotoko Dr. K.K Sarpong has expressed gratitude to the club's fans who have offered massive support to the team in recent times.

The Porcupine Warriors are now well placed to clinch their 22nd league title with a healthy ten point difference at the summit of the Glo Premier League with nine matches to go.

Kotoko have not lost a league game since 18th December, 2011 when they succumbed to a controvercial 1-0 defeat away to All Stars.

The team has since gone nine matches unbeaten, making them overwhelming favourites to win this season's league crown - a title that has eluded Kumasi-based club for four years.

And Dr. Sarpong is quick to notice the massive role played by the fans during this period.

"On behalf of the Board of Directors, the Executive Chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC, Dr K.K Sarpong, wishes to express his profound gratitude to the club's massive group of fans for their unflinching support to the club in recent times," a statement signed by the club's Public and Supporters Relations Manager Listowell Bukarson read.

"Apart from the frantic efforts that fans have consistently made at our home games lately, the have gone extra expensive mile in the face of justifiable setbacks to travel outside Kumasi to render their love to this enviable club and to give the team their support during away games."

The statement went on to name specific individuals and groups for vital roles played in the recent success of the team.

Asante Kotoko in the next three games where they could possibly seal the league title will host New Edubiase and the in-form striker Emmanuel Baffour, play away at Wassaman before hosting Hearts of Oak in the big Ghanaian derby.
