Kotoko Chief Samuel Opoku Nti has labeled reports linking star midfielder Michael Akuffo to Hearts as ‘bogus’.

The 28-year-old has been linked with a sensational move to the Accra side as his contract runs out at the end of the current campaign.

However, Kotoko General Manager Samuel Opoku Nti, has laughed off the speculation and stressed that the story is palpably false.

“Michael Akuffu has himself heard the news. He called me to ask what was happening,” Nti told the club’s official website.

“He was as shocked as we were. Our supporters shouldn’t get agitated over this report. It is not true that Akuffu is joining Hearts. Akuffu isn’t going anywhere.

He is our player. He is playing for us. Anybody who says he is leaving for Hearts is just bent on deceiving the public.”

Akuffo is arguably the club’s most prized asset and has overly impressed since he joined the Ghanaian giants.
