Asante Kotoko claim they are unaware of the termination of its partnership agreement with Sunderland.
Reports are rife the English club have cancelled the partnership agreement signed with the club in 2011 over lack of professionalism.
Kotoko entered into a partnership agreement with the Black Cats to primarily share coaching and business expertise.
The deal saw then coach Maxwell Konadu famously travel to Sunderland in 2012 in a coaching exchange program.
The agreement, signed under the Dr. KK Sarpong led administration has gone cold in recent times.
Rumours are rife that the English strugglers have written to Kotoko to terminate this partnership agreement.
But spokesman for the Ghanaian champions Kwaku Ahenkorah says the club is unaware of such official communication.
“I can state categorically that management of Asante Kotoko have not received any letter from Sunderland terminating the partnership with us,†he told Kumasi-based Angel FM.
“I don’t know whether the letter is traveling on its way to us but as I speak now, we don’t have any letter to that effect.
“Ambassador Kabral [Blay-Amihere] is the one in charge of all communications between Asante Kotoko and Sunderland and so far we have received no word from him over this purported letter.â€
