Asante Kotoko coach Mas-Ud Dramani insists his team will progress in the Champions League despite the below-par performance on Sunday.

The Ghanaian champions failed to impress despite their 2-1 win over Barrack Young Controllers at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday.

A penalty double from defender Kwabena Edusei saw the Porcupine Warriors scrape through with the victory – much to the disappointment of their expectant fans.

But coach Dramani is confident his team will excel in the return leg in Liberia to progress to the next stage of the competition.

“We did the most important thing and that is getting the win,” he told Metro FM after Sunday’s game.

“But the fans were disappointed that the margin [of the win] wasn’t wider but we got the win.

“It is a game of football and I believe we will sail through.

“We have one more game to play against them [BYC] in their home and I believe we will go there and do the job.”

Kotoko will travel to Liberia on Friday after clearing their outstanding Premier League game against Ebusua Dwarfs on Wednesday.
