Kotoko coach David Duncan calls on SWAG to give him a miniature trophy for keeps for winning it thrice

Asante Kotoko head coach David Duncan says sponsors of the SWAG Cup should get him a miniature trophy as an honour for winning the same trophy for the third time.

The former Hearts of Oak manager won his first trophy as manager of Kumasi Asante Kotoko after Eric Donkor’s late free kick dashed the miners’ hopes of winning their fifth trophy of the season.

Duncan who has come under immense pressure for going trophyless after losing out to Hearts of Oak, Medeama and AshGold in the President’s Cup, FA Cup and Otufuo Cup respectively won his third SWAG Cup trophy since 2006.

The former AshGold and Olympics manager won the trophy with AshantiGold in 2006 and 2009 and has repeated it in 2015 with Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

The buoyant coach has since called on the organizers of the game and their sponsors to get him a miniature cup for keeps.

“I know I can’t keep this trophy since it must be going round. But since I have won it on three occasions, I think SIC and SWAG must get me a miniature one for keeps,” Duncan said after the game.

“I won it in the 2006 with AsHgold in the finals against Kumasi Asante Kotoko and in 2009 in the finals against Hearts of Oak. So they must really consider that,” he added.
