Asante Kotoko deputy coach Godwin Ablordey has lamented on the performance of referees in the Ghana Premier League.

The Porcupine Warriors were beaten 2-1 by Medeama in week 10 of the Ghana Premier at the Tarkwa T&A on Wednesday.

The game was characterized by referee Isaaka Afful's decision to award the home side a controversial penalty, which was coolly converted by Paul Aidoo to equalize Ahmed Adams first half goal before Medeama added the second through another spot kick decision to the dismay of the Reds faithful.

“What is happening in Ghana football is sad if this is how referees are going to officiate games,” he said in a post-match conference.

“Against Hearts of Oak there was a dubious penalty and today too he first penalty was a dubious one.”

“It is sad for Ghana football but we will just forget about the defeat and move on.”

Kotoko are now 3rd on the league table with 18 points from 10 games.
