Kotoko coach Konadu content with Hearts draw

Published on: 21 November 2011

Asante Kotoko Coach Maxwell Konadu is happy to nick a point off Hearts of Oak on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Both teams especially Kotoko were presented with clear cut chances to take all three points but the profligacy of the strikers ensured the game ended in a higly entertaining stalemate.

Nevertheless, Konadu says he is satisfied with the result but begged for more referee protection for players in his post match comments.

''We have had a point and that is good for us. It was a difficult match," he said.

"I must say that Hearts did their best. They played well. Once you are playing away you have to be good tactically.

''They (both teams) played well but for me I think the referees should have done something to protect them. I think that next time they have to protect the players. Some of the tackles were too bad but it's okay''.

Kotoko maintained pole position on the league log with 15 points but Hearts drop to third on similar points with now second-placed Berekum Chelsea with 14 points but with inferior goal difference.
