Ghanaian champions Asante Kotoko have completed a massive transfer coup with goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi expected to sign a three-year deal with the club this week, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.

GHANAsocernet.com's  Akyereko Frimpong-Manso reports the former Ghana Under-20 shot-stopper Kumasi will arrive in Kumasi  today (Thursday) to complete formalities.

Kotoko have stolen the march off their arch-rivals Hearts of Oak to sign the glovesman who impressed for Ghana’s Under-20 team during the 2013 FIFA World Youth Championship.

The news will be massive blow to Hearts who were keen to land the services of the Amidaus Professionals player after they made an official approach for his signature.

The 19-year-old was reported to have signed for Inter Allies but Amidaus Professional president Alhaji Baba Gedo, who has strong ties with Kotoko, has decided to sell him to the Porcupine Warriors.

It is however unclear if Antwi’s move could spark another family confusion.

The mother of former Ghana youth star claimed last year that her son will defy the orders of his ‘drunk’ dad to play for Accra-based giants Hearts of Oak.

In a shocking public attack on the father of the goalkeeper, Grace Asantewaa described her ex-husband as a ‘drunkard’ and an ‘irresponsible father who never took care of his children’ after Franklin Ofori said he will force his son to play for giants Kotoko instead of arch rivals Hearts of Oak.

Ofori’s father revealed last year that he will prevent his son from playing for Hearts because he feared he will court ‘bad luck’ when he makes the switch to the capital.
