Ashanti Gold versatile midfielder, Augustine Sefa has stated that their SWAG Cup loss to Asante Kotoko will not despair them in their quest to defend their league title next season.

The Miners failed to win the 2015 edition of the SWAG Cup after losing by a 1-0 to the Porcupine Warriors at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The win thus give Asante Kotoko their first off-season trophy and their 14th SWAG Cup as against Ashanti Gold’s five.

Sefa, 20, who featured in last Sunday’s game has opined that their cup defeat to Kotoko will not despair them in their quest to defend their league title in the coming season adding the referee on the day was very bad.

"We were much determined to win the game and we will not be despaired by losing our first off season cup to Kotoko."

"But on the day the referee was very bad. I don’t know whether he wanted them to win because in the FA Cup last season he was the same referee who handled the game."

“In the game our concern was not the referee but within ourselves we were much determined to win the game,” Sefa said after the game.

AshatiGold will be competing in the CAF Champions League and many pundits believe that coach Bashiru Hayford should work harder to make Ghana proud in Africa.
