Asante Kotoko defender Gideon Baah is just a week away from regaining full fitness from a broken leg which has sidelined him for a year, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

Doctors who have been doing clinical assessment of his progress at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital have given him the green light to start light training.

If he passes the test, he could even play a part in the closing stages of the Glo Premier League.

The news will be a morale booster for head coach Bogdan Korak and fans who have been keen for his return to the pitch.

The former Zaytuna player suffered a complete close fracture in his left tibia and fibula during Kotoko's 1-0 defeat to Hearts of Oak at Kumasi in March last year following a salvage tackle.
