Kotoko defender Ochaya joins Uganda squad for CECAFA Cup

Asante Kotoko defender Joseph Ochaya left Accra on Tuesday night to join Uganda's squad for the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup.

The 19-year-old has been invited by Uganda coach Bobby Williams to bolster his squad for the regional tournament.

The left-back was permitted by his Ghana Premier League side to travel after Sunday's derby 0-0 draw against Hearts of Oak.

Ochaya, formerly of Kampala City Council, joined the Porcupine Warriors this season after impressing for the Uganda's U20 team in the 2013 African Youth Championship.

He has been impressive for Kotoko and scored his debut goal in the 2-0 win over Berekum Arsenal last month.

Kotoko will miss his services for three league matches; Tema Youth (away), New Edubiase (home) and Ebusua Dwarfs (away).

The tournament kicks-off on Saturday, 24 November with the hosts Uganda facing Kenya in the seond match of the day at Namboole Stadium.
