The Hearts of Oak camp is buzzing following news of Asante Kotokoââ¬â¢s elimination from the FA Cup on Saturday.
The Phobians play Division One club Elmina Sharks on Sunday but are buoyed by Kotokoââ¬â¢s loss to Amidaus Professionals at the Round of 16 stage.
Hearts thus sees Kotokoââ¬â¢s shock exit as a unique opportunity to grab the only piece of silverware within their reach after the Kumasi-based side sealed this seasonââ¬â¢s league with four games to spare.
The Phobians want to win the FA Cup to set up a classical Super Cup game at the end of the current campaign.
ââ¬ÅAs shocking the news of Kotokoââ¬â¢s exit from the competition is, we believe it presents an opportunity for us,â⬠midfielder Laryea Kingston told GHANAsoccernet.com.
ââ¬ÅThe fans will very much like to see another Heats-Kotoko match and the only way it can be realized is if we win the cup.
ââ¬ÅNow more than ever we are determined to win this competition to perhaps make up for our inability to win the league and also to set up another clash with Kotoko.ââ¬
Hearts will however first need to negotiate their way through Sharks at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
