Kotoko forward Obed Owusu hopeful of a better performance ahead of league kickoff

Asante Kotoko forward Obed Owusu says he hopes to put up a better performance in the upcoming league set to kick off on the 20th of this month.

The former Berekum Chelsea striker had a torrid season last year playing the entire first round of the league without a goal to his name.

But the talented player says he aims at improving that record by fetching some goals early in the first round to push the Porcupine Warriors towards their title chase.

“I was not very happy with that record last season. For a striker to play a total of fifteen matches without a goal was very bad,” Obed noted.

“But I hope to improve it this season. I can’t afford to go ‘goal-less’ again in the first round and I am very sure that I will improve upon the performance.”

The experienced forward however noted that the team agenda is very paramount on the radar of all the players superseding their individual aspirations.

“Even though I aim at scoring more goals this season, I will not be bothered much if I don’t score but can create for others to score. We want to win the league and that is the ultimate,” Obed added.

Asante Kotoko will begin their title ambitions with WAFA when the season finally kicks off on the 20th of this month.
