Asante Kotoko General Manager Opoku Nti insists he will be handing over the club to Sammy Kuffour in a much healthier condition than he inherited just over two years ago.

The ex Ghana defender is expected to be confirmed as the new President of the Ghana Premier League giants by close of day today.

Kuffour will have far-reaching powers to constitute a new board and management to steer the affairs of the club.

Kotoko have however had difficulties during transition of administrations with the exiting team usually complaining of being owed monies they used to run the club.

But Opoku Nti insists the club is not as in serious debt as it was when he assumed leadership with the only outstanding debt owed to financier Kwaku Frimpong.

“We don’t have debts aside what is owe Dr. Kwaku Frimpong,” he said.

“Half of that amount has been paid and we look to settle the rest by next week as we expect some cash.”

Opoku Nti took over the club from Dr. K.K Sarpong in 2013.

There are reports he will be allowed to stay on in his position especially as he has been elected as an Executive Committee member of the Ghana FA.
