Asante Kotoko legend Osei Kofi has criticized the current management for its decision to sell their key players.

The Porcupine Warriors have lost three key players who helped them win last season's Ghana Premier League title to the transfer market.

Defenders Awal Muhammed and left-back Baba Abdul Rahman have joined South African side Maritzburg and German Bundesliga side Greuther Furth.

Early this week, last season's Ghana Premier League Most Valuable Player Daniel Nii Adjei, flew out to join DR Congo giants TP Mazembe.

Right-back Yaw Frimpong is expected to leave in January and striker Ben Acheampong will also team up with Angolan side Petro Atletico.

Osei Kofi has accused the club's officials for weakening the defending league champions.

"You can't eat your cake and have it and don't expect to sell all the good things you have and expect to excel,'' Osei Kofi told Gold Sports.

"Kotoko have to be very careful with the rate at which players are leaving the club because this could have a rippling effect on their CAF Champions League campaign."

Asante Kotoko currently lie 6th on the Ghana Premier League table after amassing 11 points from seven matches.
