Ghana Premier League title-holders Asante Kotoko have confirmed they will play second-tier side Tema Youth in a mid-season friendly on Wednesday in Tema.

The Porcupine Warriors, who have established commanding leadership at the summit of the Ghana league section, have been touring different parts of the country in a tight training programme as Mas-Ud Dramani is eager to get his men ready for their domestic and continental assignment.

Youth, who were one of the three clubs relegated from the Ghanaian top-flight last season, also want to use the friendly to prepare themselves for the zonal division one league.

"We will beat Kotoko on Wednesday because we have to show we mean business in the league we are playing," Tema Youth President Osei Kwaku told Accra-based Oman FM.

Kotoko have failed to record any victories in their warm-up friendlies as they have drawn against Crystal Palace and Right to Dream Academy.

Former Ghana striker Isaac Boakye and Rahi  Ayew are both expected to feature in the game for Kotoko as Boakye - a former Wolfsburg striker has returned to training.
