Asante Kotoko have lost influential duo Michael Helegbe and Issa Yakubu for Sunday’s Ghana Premier League derby against Hearts of Oak in Accra.

Midfielder gem Helegbe picked up an early leg injury during Kotoko’s opening 2-1 win over Aduana Stars in Sunyani last Sunday.

Yakubu, another middle man, has been ruled out due to ” athlete foot” injury.

Kotoko coach Mas-Ud Dramani has a quality replacement in Yahaya Mohammed to replace Helegbe whose sublime skills will be sorely missed.

The defending league champions have not lost at the Accra Sports Stadium in three seasons.

  2. Kaylee says:

Yesterday GSN reported that Hearts imported two powerful spiritualists as against their cracker with Kotoko, now they av shown d potency of their juju by givin kotoko’s key players injuries. When will Ghana, their national team, their leagues, their coaching crew and FA, learn that they are doin more harm than good to Ghana 2ru their juju? Ghana as a whole has realy disgraced African futty. Shame on u ghanaians.

  3. goro says:

@kaylee the same juju made obasi, kanu, odiwinge, uche, emenike, adeleye and mikel injured if your argument is true. Emenike and adeleye got injured b4 confederation cup, Kanu had heart problem, odiwinge had injury and ran away from from national team, mikel had injury even last week and cannot even score a goal for chelsea but play more back passes than front passes as a result of juju. if injuries are as
a result of juju then what happened to your stars is also as a result of juju. you hypoctite nigerian leave us alone and go and solve your country numerous problems. Yesterday boko haram burnt the wife of a military man and also killed one soldier in nigeria. go and solve your problems and leave ours for us.

  4. Kaylee says:

Goro need i remind u that it’s ur fellow muslems that are causing troubles in 9ja(i mean northern 9ja)? It’s d hausa-fulanis of which u knw d linage of Accra indigens has been traced from d northern part of 9ja. Go to south east, south south and ofcourse south west where christians dorminate, then u wil agree with me that d norths r a difrnt part of 9ja. I wander what kinda religion is this Islam.

  5. Nana Yaw says:

failure has begun at kotoko side. no matter the case shall be kotoko will loose.

  6. Kaylee says:

We droped adeleye long b4 Afcon bkus he was eqaul to john boye, and had him replaced with chelsea of england’s young sensation Ken Omeruo. We droped odemwingie bkus he was match rusty due2 d problem he had with west brom. Uche lost 4m. Obasi was dropd bkus he was as unlucky as essien and Annan. Kanu remains Arsenal/AFRICAN legend.
