Kotoko, Medeama to engage in playoff for league's 2nd spot

Asante Kotoko and Medeama SC will play at a neutral venue to determine who clinches second spot in the just ended Glo Premier League.

The one-off game is in conformity with the rules and regulations regarding competitions in Ghana where two or more teams are parred on all fronts ie. on points and goal difference.

"There will be a play-off between the two sides to determine their actual ranking according to our rules and regulations," PLB boss Abra-Appiah confirmed to Asempa FM.

'If you look critically at the table, both teams are level on points, goal difference andeven the goals aggregate between the two sides appear the same," he continued.

"Therefore this game would be played to determine the actual ranking of these two teams on the league standings."

The date and venue of this game is yet to be revealed. It is to be noted that the winner of this one-off game qualifies to represent Ghana in the Confederations Cup whiles the winners of the league (Berekum Chelsea) competes in next season's Champions League.
