Kotoko midfielder Michael Akuffu will finally depart for Lebanon on Wednesday to sign a short-term deal with Al-Ansar SC, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

Kotoko have decided to let him go on a season-long loan after turning down an earlier offer from the club.

Akuffu was left distraught and furious following a breakdown in negotiation,  with Kotoko ordering him to return to his native Ghana despite holding several training sessions with the Middle East club.

The two parties have now reached an agreement,  with the former WAFA trainee expected to fly to the Middle East on Wednesday to begin his adventure with the side, Ghana’s leading football portal, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

The Beirut-based side are keen on the services of the intelligent Ghanaian enforcer as he is seen as the ideal man to propel the side in their title challenge this season.

Akuffu has become a cult figure in Kumasi since joining in 2011 where he has won three league titles, one FA Cup crown and a Super Cup.
