Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom today gave Kotoko players a gift of US$5,000 for beating their arch rivals Hearts of Oak last month.

The Ukraine-based right-back promised the cash gift to the players of his former club if they beat the Phobians in the league match in Accra.

The players ensured that Inkoom's fat wallet was thumped by recording a well-deserved 2-0 win at the Ohene Djan Stadium.

The FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk player made the cash transfer to players on Friday morning after their training which brought massive happiness to the Porcupine Warriors camp.

Inkoom is delighted that Kotoko players can be encouraged to excel in tough matches in the Ghana Premier League.

"We are all happy that Kotoko players can be encouraged do well. I want to urge them to continue to work hard and supporters will appreciate them," Inkoom said.

The right-back played two seasons for Kotoko before joining FC Basel in 2009.
